Another brand new year has dawned on us and here at Nerdy Frames we were hoping to get more and more good local music to come to pass, but it seems as though every time we endorse something of great local significance something crappy and awful comes along and further makes us loose any faith towards ever liking NZ music and today’s fodder is no exception to that rule.
Starboy is not the great Paul Stanley from K.I.S.S (this guy wishes he is) but the character of one Jaffa and Drug kingpin extraordinaire Matt Bowden. Who is Matt Bowden you ask yourself? Well you were probably too stoned to remember if you were a constant consumer of his products, but Matt Bowden is the man that instigated the party pill scene here in Auckland. You may have seen his face on the television awhile back when he came up with a synthetic form of cannabis which he cultivated in a lab so it can get pass all the legal loopholes that are in place to prevent the legal sale of it in local dairy’s around Auckland.
But enough about his backstory of being a Drug pushing Kingpin, let’s talk about his musical endeavors shall we? Oh wait that’s right, his music sucks balls.
Jesus Christ here we go again with another wacky rock star that is the aborted fetus of David Bowie if he had an affair with some groupie who wore a paper bag while they were having sex.
The music is processed sludge like as if you would do this much to a song if it were for something like a commercial for KFC chicken; it has that sort of aftertaste. Yeah the audio is utter crap and you would think with the buckets of cash he has at his disposal he would fix something like that in post.
Oh and if you want the 101 on how to make the worst video for your music, then look no further than the video itself as it is supremely tacky, it has unnecessary cameos and women who serve no purpose but to have eyecandy, I bet their Mother’s must be very proud that they were in a Starboy Video…good god!
Apparently from the lazy research that I gathered from the internet that this is a song about drugs and living in harmony with the vices of being high, wow so in other words it is to push your drug agenda so you get all of us to buying packets of Kronic from the dairy so you can maximize your profits so you can continue you live the lavish lifestyle that you lead and in turn pulling your pants down and laying on us this turd that will forever stink up the music scene here in NZ.
In other words this song suck, the video sucks the whole backstory of said video sucks, hell this is not even worthy of being one of those bad songs that you might like no you will hate this as much as the 52 dislikes that it was given.
