While getting ready for the upcoming release of their official debut album this spring, Bay Area’s Latin Alternative sensation Bang Data has a new video out for its celebrated first single and it’s being premiered on Youtube Music’s homepage starting January 23rd.

“Bang Data” is also the title of the song, which was originally included in the band’s critically acclaimed EP, Maldito Carnaval. A brief introduction to Bang Data’s eclectic bicultural musical universe, “Bang Data” accurately represents their mixed influences that go all the way from underground hip-hop to Latin Alternative, including elements of Brazilian samba, Colombian Cumbia, Reggae, Afro-electro and more.
The song “Bang Data” has already been featured on Emmy Award winning television drama Breaking Bad (http://on.fb.me/bangdatabb) in September 2011 on the episode titled “Salud.” Accompanying the song’s new video, Bang Data just re-released the digital single of the song via iTunes on January 20th.
Bang Data is formed by Bay Area’s MC Deuce Eclipse on lead vocals, who’s well known by hip-hop fans as an accompanying voice to the legendary Zion I and musician/producer Juan Manuel Caipo who helped propel the latin alternative music scene in the Bay Area early on in his career. In 2008, they joined forces and Bang Data was born after working together with Amplive from Zion I, who at the time was producing Deuce’s solo album.
Since then, the band has been performing all over the Bay Area alongside A-List Latin acts including Calle 13, Ozomatli, Novalima, and more. Their debut full album, titled La Sopa (which means The Soup in Spanish), is planned to drop in Spring 2012.
